Description

"The Acceleration is Incredible" is a 12-track electronic album that takes listeners on a dynamic and captivating sonic journey.

Track 1 - Go to the fridge

The album begins with the opening track "Go to the Fridge," which sets the tone with its infectious beats and catchy melodies, drawing listeners in with its playful energy.

Track 2 - The Acceleration is Incredible (We are Martians)

"The Acceleration is Incredible (We are Martians)" is a captivating story that takes people on an interstellar journey from Cardiff Central to the red planet Mars. The story follows a group of intrepid space voyagers as they embark on an epic adventure, traversing the vastness of space and encountering mysterious martians along the way.

Track 3 - Devil resting on your shoulder

Keeping your mind's eye on that devil.

Track 4 - Yes, Rain (including a poem by Fannie Isabelle Sherrick)

"Yes, Rain" is a captivating track that beautifully combines the natural sound of rain falling on the ground with Dave Village's electronic beats and introspective vocals, and concludes with Dave Village reciting the first half of a poem by Fannie Isabelle Sherrick.

A poem by Fannie Isabelle Sherrick - Summer Rain, 1860

Oh, what is so pure as the glad summer rain,
That falls on the grass where the sunlight has lain?
And what is so fair as the flowers that lie
All bathed in the tears of the soft summer sky?

The blue of the heavens is dimmed by the rain
That wears away sorrow and washes out pain;
But we know that the flowers we cherish would die
Were it not for the tears of the cloud-laden sky.

The rose is the sweeter when kissed by the rain,
And hearts are the dearer where sorrow has lain;
The sky is the fairer that rain-clouds have swept,
And no eyes are so bright as the eyes that have wept.

Track 5 - That's it, That's the Answer

"That's it, That's the Answer" is a heartfelt song that captures the essence of fleeting moments of joy and wonder in life. Inspired by memorable experiences like watching William Shatner's iconic performance of Rocket Man in the 1970s, Nancy Wilson and George Shearing's rendition of Let's Live Again, and the simple beauty of a blooming flower, the song encapsulates the magic of these special moments that bring a sense of delight.

Track 6 - I Like Trains (Happy)

It's an upbeat song. I was reading a book about Stoics by a magician. Eating lots of vegetable curry among other things, and especially - listening to people.

Track 7 - Potato Dress

A spoon and a moon.

Track 8 - It's Hurting my Brain

Taking stock. Realising it might not be so useful to give advice before you attempt to sort out your own brain, feelings and sense of direction.

Track 9 - Unpredictable Manoeuvre

Most of time I don't like driving around city centres - stop, start etc. It doesn't help if you are feeling grumpy.
